Dieringer Earns Wrestler of the Week

Oklahoma State’s Alex Dieringer earned Big 12 Wrestler of the Week honors for competitions taking place from Jan. 19-25. It is the second honor of the season for Dieringer and the third of his career.

Top-ranked Alex Dieringer earned a pair of bonus-point wins this weekend as the Cowboys took on No. 3 Mizzou and No. 8 Iowa State on the road. Against Mizzou, Dieringer faced Mikey England, who he took down four times en route to a 15-3 major decision.

In Ames, the Cowboy knocked off No. 4 Michael Moreno with another major decision, 13-3. Dieringer also took down the Cyclone four times. The victory was crucial in OSU’s 21-15 victory over Iowa State. Dieringer is now 20-0 on the season with 16 bonus-point wins and 4-0 against ranked opponents.

Scores and Stats: 20-0 overall, 8-0 dual, 4-0 vs. ranked, 39 dual points, 7 falls, five major decisions, four technical falls.
