Three Named to Parade All-America Squad

Three incoming Big 12 men’s basketball players have been named to the prestigious Parade All-America Team, the publication announced. Kansas signee Cheick Diallo, K-State signee Dean Wade and Oklahoma State newcomer Jawun Evans were three of 30 players nationwide selected for 2015.

Diallo is widely known for his defense and length. He averaged 17.6 points, 10.5 rebounds and 2.5 blocks during his senior campaign. A native of Mali, Africa, he was named the New York Gatorade Player of the Year each of the past two seasons.

Ranked by ESPN as the No. 6 point guard in the country and the nation's No. 33 player overall, Evans averaged 23.3 points, 7.5 assists and 7.3 rebounds last year. He was selected to the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches Class 5A All-State team.

The 6-foot-9, 225-pound Wade was the only player from the state of Kansas selected to the team. It was the first high school All-America accolade for Wade, who was also named the 2014-15 Gatorade Kansas Boys Basketball Player of the Year and Mr. Kansas Basketball by the Kansas Basketball Coaches Association (KBCA).

Dating back to 1957, the Parade All-American Basketball teams list is the longest ongoing selection of high school basketball All-Americans in the country. Previous honorees include hundreds of NBA stars, among them Magic Johnson, Michael Jordan, Shaquille O'Neal, Kobe Bryant and LeBron James.
