Big 12 football has four conference games on the week 8 schedule while TCU and West Virginia have a bye.

The Big 12 has three of the nation’s 14 undefeated teams which ties for the most from any league. Baylor, Oklahoma State and TCU are a combined 19-0. TCU’s 15-game win streak is second nationally behind Ohio State.

The Big 12 has two of the of top 4 teams in the national polls with No. 2/2 Baylor and No. 3/4 TCU. They are joined in the ratings by No. 12/14 Oklahoma State and No. 15/17 Oklahoma. On October 12, a season-high eighty percent of Conference teams were ranked or received votes.

The Big 12 has three of the top four-rated teams in Sagarin ratings and sixty percent of its teams are listed in the top 32 - 2. Baylor, 3. TCU, 4. Oklahoma, 17. Oklahoma State, 28. West Virginia and 32. Texas Tech.

Seven of 16 conference games have been decided by 10-or-fewer points. Five of the games were decided in the final 1:10 of the game, including one in OT. Four involved a late comeback by the winning team.

Road teams went 3-1 in October 17 league games to take an 8-6 advantage in games played at campus sites.

The Big 12’s three undefeated teams - Baylor, Oklahoma State and TCU - are a combined 10-0 away from their home stadiums on the season and have proved they can win in tight games with five of the contests decided by 7-or-fewer points.

The Big 12 leads FBS leagues in total offense (491.60), passing offense (293.81), and rushing offense (194.76). The Big 12 leads the next-closest conference by an average of 52.6 yards of total offense and 36.93 passing.

The Big 12 also leads the FBS in passing efficiency (152.12). Conference teams have completed 1,143 of 1,856 pass attempts with 44 interceptions for a .616 completion percentage.

The Big 12 has the nation’s top three total offense leaders and six in the top 25 - 1. Baylor (719.7), 2. Texas Tech (623.7), 3. TCU (616.3), 18. Oklahoma (488.8), 19. West Virginia (485.5) and 25. Oklahoma State (463.0).

The Big 12 also has the top three scoring offenses and five in the top 20 - 1. Baylor (63.8), 2. TCU (50.1), 3. Texas Tech (49.4), 13. Oklahoma (40.0) and 20. Oklahoma State (37.3).

Baylor quarterback Seth Russell was named the Walter Camp National Offensive Player of the Week after compiling 540 yards of total offense and six touchdowns in the win over West Virginia.
