Big 12 football has four conference games on the week 8 schedule while TCU and West Virginia have a bye.

The Big 12 has two of the of top 4 teams in the national polls with No. 2/2 Baylor and No. 3/4 TCU. They are joined in the ratings by No. 12/14 Oklahoma State and No. 15/17 Oklahoma. On October 12, a season-high eighty percent of Conference teams were ranked or received votes.

The Big 12 also leads the FBS in passing efficiency (152.12). Conference teams have completed 1,143 of 1,856 pass attempts with 44 interceptions for a .616 completion percentage.

Baylor quarterback Seth Russell was named the Walter Camp National Offensive Player of the Week after compiling 540 yards of total offense and six touchdowns in the win over West Virginia.
