Biletnikoff Award Watch List Finalized

The Tallahassee Quarterback Club Foundation, Inc. has made final additions to its 2015 Biletnikoff Award watch list, including Oklahoma State wide out James Washington.

The Biletnikoff Award is presented annually to college football’s outstanding receiver. Anyone who catches a pass, regardless of position (wide receiver, tight end, slot back, inside receiver, split end, or running back) is eligible to win the Biletnikoff Award.

With the addition of Washington, the Big 12 now has seven players on the list. Previously announced are: KD Cannon (Baylor), Corey Coleman (Baylor), Sterling Shepard (Oklahoma), Josh Doctson (TCU), Jakeem Grant (Texas Tech) and Shelton Gibson (West Virginia).

The Biletnikoff Award has opened its online FanVote for voting for Biletnikoff Award candidates on the Biletnikoff Award website. Every fan may vote once daily on the Biletnikoff Award FanVote page. The aggregate fan tally will be counted as one official vote to determine semi-finalists (ten receivers), finalists (three), and the winner.

A distinguished Biletnikoff Award National Selection Committee of 275 prominent college football journalists, commentators, and former receivers (plus the fan vote) will select 10 semifinalists for the 22nd annual Biletnikoff Award by November 16, and the field will be narrowed to three finalists on November 24.

The Biletnikoff winner will then be presented live December 10 during the Home Depot College Football Awards Show on ESPN. There will also be a banquet to honor the winner on January 30, 2016, at the University Center Club at Doak Cambell Stadium in Tallahassee, Florida.

The Biletnikoff Award has only had two players ever win the award twice, both coming out of the Big 12. Texas Tech’s Michael Crabtree won back-to-back in 2007 and 2008, and Oklahoma State’s Justin Blackmon won the award consecutively in 2010 and 2011.
