Digital Network Previews Men's Hoops Teams

Big 12 men's basketball has been the nation's best each of the last two years – seeing a record seven teams earn NCAA bids each of the last two campaigns. Experience will be the key this year in the Conference, as 10 of the 15 members of last year's All-Big 12 First, Second and Third Teams will suit up again in 2015-16. Included among that group are four of five members of the first team – something that hasn't happened in a major conference since 2010-11.

Depending on the poll, up to five teams have been ranked in the preseason top 25 with at least two more receiving votes. That's 70 percent of the conference. Three of the squads are in the top 10 – Kansas, Iowa State and Oklahoma – which should make for an exciting and challenging Big 12 race. Showcasing the strength of the conference, after January 1 every team in the league will play at least 12 games versus opponents that made the NCAA Tournament a year ago.

Nine of the 10 teams in the league have been ranked in the top 25 since 2014 and the squads will be put to a stern test early with nearly every team facing major foes in the early-season multi-team events. Conference play begins on January 2, with the regular-season cumulating at the 2016 Phillips 66 Big 12 Men's Basketball Championship in Kansas City.
