With a 5-3 victory over Dallas Baptist on Monday to win the Lubbock Regional, Texas Tech joins Oklahoma State and TCU in the NCAA Championship Super Regional field.
This marks the fourth season the Big 12 has had three or more teams advance to Super Regional play since the format was adopted in 1999 and second time in the past three years (2014, ‘05, 1999). In 2014, three of the Big 12’s four Super Regional squads advanced to Omaha.
The Big 12 has produced 37 Super Regional teams including multiple teams in 14 seasons. The league is 9-1 this postseason with the .900 win percentage in regional action the best in conference history.
This marks the second Super Regional appearance in TTU history, following its 2014 Super Regional that preceded a berth to the College World Series. The No. 5 national seed, Texas Tech will host East Carolina in Lubbock next weekend.
The Cowboys defeated No. 7 national seed Clemson on its home field two nights in a row, going undefeated in the Clemson Regional. OSU moves on to face the winner of the Columbia Regional - South Carolina or UNC Wilmington.
The Frogs also used a 3-0 regional showing at advance to face No. 4 national seed Texas A&M in the College Station Super Regional next weekend. The two teams also met in the Super Regionals in 2015 with the Frogs winning the series in Fort Worth to advance to their second straight College World Series.

The Red Raiders used the pitching combination of Ryan Moseley and Hayden Howard along with three RBI from nine-hole hitter Orlando Garcia to defeat second-seeded DBU in front of a home crowd of 4,732.
After Tech took two separate leads, 1-0 after the first and 3-1 after the fourth, the Patriots would tie the game twice, 1-1 and 3-3, before TTU plated a pair in the bottom of the sixth to establish and maintain a 5-3 edge. Garcia, who doubled in a run in the fourth, followed up with another double in the sixth to give the Red Raiders the two runs.
Moseley went 4.1 innings in the start, allowed three hits and one run, before handing the ball over to Howard, who allowed two runs over his 4.2 innings of work.
