Three Collect USBWA All-America Honors

Three Big 12 women’s basketball standouts were named to the 2018-19 U.S. Basketball Writers (USBWA) Women’s All-America Teams on Tuesday. Baylor’s Kalani Brown was awarded second-team selection, while BU’s Lauren Cox and Iowa State’s Bridget Carleton picked up third-team honors.

Brown's selection to the USBWA All-America team is the 11th of her career and third this season along with the AP and espnW.com. Through the NCAA Elite 8, Brown averages 15.5 points, 8.1 rebounds, 1.7 blocks and shoots 60.9 percent from the floor.

Cox's selection was the fourth all-America award of her career and second this season along with the AP. Cox, through Monday night's Elite 8 victory over Iowa, averages 12.9 points, 8.3 rebounds, 3.7 assists, 2.5 blocks and a 2.56:1 assists-to-turnover ratio, which leads the Big 12.  

A native of Chatham, Ontario, Carleton put together one of the finest seasons and careers in the history of Iowa State women's hoops. Carleton led the Big 12 in scoring at 21.7, breaking ISU's season point record with 760.
