Ten Garner Academic All-District Recognition

Ten Big 12 student-athletes earned a spot on the Google Cloud Academic All-District® Baseball and Softball Teams.

Iowa State softball’s Hannah Carter and Sami Williams garnered District 6 recognition, while Oklahoma’s Caleigh Clifton picked up a District 7 accolade.

Seven of the 12 District 7 baseball honorees were from the Big 12: Sam Bertelson (Texas), Richard Cunningham (Baylor), Braxton Fulford (Texas Tech), Josh Jung (Texas Tech), Carson McCusker (Oklahoma State), Andy Thomas (Baylor) and Cameron Warren (Texas Tech).

Selected by CoSIDA, the program recognizes the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The Google Cloud Academic All-America® program separately recognizes baseball and softball honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.

First-team Academic All-District® honorees advance to the Google Cloud Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second- and third-team (when selected) Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in June.

Google Cloud Academic All-America® teams will be announced as following: June 3 (NAIA), June 4 (NCAA Division III), June 5 (NCAA Division II) and June 6 (NCAA Division I).
