The Big 12 Conference has announced that San Antonio will be the site of the Big 12 Soccer Championship in November 2010. This will mark the 14th consecutive year the nonprofit San Antonio Sports has co-hosted the Conference championship in the Alamo City with the University of Texas.
“The Big 12 Conference is pleased to extend its long-standing relationship with San Antonio Sports in hosting the 2010 Big 12 Soccer Championship,” said Senior Associate Commissioner Dru Hancock. “San Antonio Sports and the entire city of San Antonio have been invaluable in helping us grow this premiere event over the past 13 years. San Antonio serves as a great destination city for our teams and fans.”
The 2009 Big 12 Conference Women’s Soccer Championship will be held November 4, 6 and 8 at Blossom Soccer Stadium in San Antonio.
The top eight teams based on conference results determined by a point system qualify for the Big 12 Championship. A squad gets three points for each conference win and one point for each conference tie. The winner of the tournament receives the conference’s automatic bid to the NCAA tournament.
Soccer fans will once again have the opportunity to see one of the most dominant conferences in the nation compete in San Antonio. For more information, visit Big12Sports.com or SanAntonioSports.org.
