Hollie Vise (Oklahoma) was named the Big 12 Gymnast of the Week for the first time in her career. Fellow Sooner Jackie Flanery shared Event Specialist of the Week accolades with Nebraska’s Erin Davis. Flanery has received the honor for the third time in her career and Davis garnered her second recognition. Vise has earned the Event Specialist award six times.
BIG 12 GYMNAST OF THE WEEK Hollie Vise, Oklahoma, Sr., Dallas, Texas In her first collegiate all-around competition, Vise claimed a first place finish with a mark of 39.600. The senior won titles on bars with a career-high score of 9.950 and also on beam with a 9.925. She now holds 16 individual event crowns for the season. Vise posted another career-high on vault (9.850) and scored a 9.875 on floor.
Big 12 EVENT SPECIALISTS OF THE WEEK Erin Davis, Nebraska, Jr., Round Rock, Texas Davis notched a 9.925 on vault for the crown. She owns six victories in the event for this season. In addition, she scored a 9.800 on floor as Nebraska won against Iowa State (196.450-196.125). The junior ranks fourth in the nation on vault.
Jackie Flanery, Oklahoma, Sr., Plattsburg, Mo. Flanery landed a first place finish on floor (9.950), marking her eighth title in 10 meets on the apparatus this season. She currently ranks first nationally on floor. On vault and bars, she posted a 9.800. Her performance helped OU defeat Washington, 196.900-195.800.
