The NCAA has announced the participants that will compete in the 2016 NCAA Division I Men's and Women's Indoor Track and Field Championships, including 62 bids from the Big 12. The championships will be held March 11 and 12 in Birmingham, Alabama. Baylor (nine), Iowa State (five), Kansas (three), Kansas State (seven), Oklahoma (seven), Oklahoma State (two), TCU (three), Texas (20) and Texas Tech (six) each placed athletes in the field, including five previous national champions. On the men's side, TCU's Ronnie Baker is back to defend his 60-meter dash title after setting an NCAA-leading 6.51 second mark at the Big 12 Championship. The 2014 shot put national champion Ryan Crouser of Texas is also in the field, fresh off tying the collegiate record at the Big 12 Championship with a 21.73m toss. For the women, Iowa State's Christina Hillman is in the shot put field with a 2014 national championship under belt, and Texas places three previous winners in the meet. Courtney Okolo (Texas) is the defending 400m champion and Kaitlin Petrillose (Texas) took home the pole vault crown in 2014. Okolo is also a member of the women's 4x400m squad that is back to defend a 2015 championship. ESPN3 will stream the meet live on March 11 starting at 5:25 p.m. CT and March 12 starting at 3:55 p.m. central time. A re-air of the championship will take place on Sunday, March 13 starting at 6 p.m. CT on ESPN2 and also Wednesday, March 23 starting at 9 p.m. CT on ESPNU.
