Sooners Lead The Way In Preseason Poll

Oklahoma, the reigning ITA Indoor Champion, will open the 2015 Conference season as the league favorite in the Big 12 coaches' poll. The Sooners were selected first for the third-consecutive season with five first place votes and 25 points. Baylor tallied one first-place vote, coming in second with 21 points. Coaches are not allowed to vote for their own team in the poll.

Luduena Named Women's Tennis Player of the Week

Maria Belen Luduena (Kansas) is the Big 12 Women's Tennis Player of the Week for competition taking place from March 17-24. It is the first Big 12 weekly award of Luduena's career. She is also the first Jayhawk to win the honor since Christine Skoda in 2005.

Shankle Earns First Tennis Weekly Award of 2015

Blair Shankle (Baylor) has been named the first Big 12 Women's Tennis Player of the Week for the 2015 season. Shankle earned the honor for matches played from March 10-17. This honor is the first of Shankle's career.

Bears Unanimous No. 1 Again In Preseason Poll

The Baylor Bears women's tennis team has been unanimously selected to claim the Big 12 regular season championship by a vote of the league's head coaches. It is the third time in the last four years that BU has been the unanimous Big 12 favorites.

Five Garner ITA All-Tournament Honors

The 2015 ITA All-Tournament Team features five Big 12 student-athletes, including the tournament's Most Outstanding Player, Alex Ghilea of Oklahoma (No. 5 singles). Also garnering All-Tournament Team honors were Oklahoma's Axel Alvarez (No. 2 singles) and Dane Webb (No. 3 singles), as well as the Baylor duo of Vince Schneider and Felipe Rios (No. 3 doubles).

Danielle Lund McNamara Named Head Women’s Coach at Texas

Danielle Lund McNamara, a former Yale head women's tennis coach who led the Bulldogs to four NCAA tournament appearances and four Ivy League titles, has been named the head women's tennis coach at The University of Texas. The announcement was made Wednesday by UT Women's Athletics Director Chris Plonsky. McNamara replaces Patty Fendick-McCain, who announced her retirement from college coaching in June after nine seasons with the Longhorns.

Big 12 Leads The Way In ITA Preseason Rankings

The 2014 ITA Division I preseason rankings are out, and the Big 12 is once again well represented. 30 student-athletes from the conference received national rankings in singles, along with seven doubles teams.
