John Hurley (Texas A&M), Alex Gibson (Texas Tech) and Madison Pressel (Texas) have been named Big 12 Golfers of the Month for the month of October, the Conference office announced. This is the first league accolade for all three student-athletes.

Peter Uihlein and Caroline Hedwall (Oklahoma State) were named September's Big 12 Golfers of the Month. This is the first conference accolade for both student-athletes.

Five Big 12 teams have earned preseason rankings in the Golf World/Nike Golf Coaches Poll, including a number one ranking for the Oklahoma State men's squad.

University of Texas senior Charlie Holland defeated Oklahoma State sophomore Peter Uihlein in 19 holes to advance to the semifinals Friday at the 2009 U.S. Amateur Championship.

A pair of Oklahoma State Cowboys will represent the United States this fall at the Walker Cup it was announced by the United States Golf Association. Rickie Fowler and Morgan Hoffmann were among the eight players named to the American team.

Veronique Drouin, who was the assistant coach at Georgia for the last four years, was chosen as the new head women's golf coach at Oklahoma.

Ryan Hybl has been named the head men's golf coach at Oklahoma. Serving as the assistant coach at Georgia, Hybl helped guide a the program to five-straight top-10 finishes at the NCAA Championship, and two SEC titles.
