A close battle in the fourth round concluded with the Texas Longhorns hoisting the Big 12 men's golf trophy. The team, which battled neck-to-neck with Oklahoma State, won by a single stroke with a score of 1168 (+48) to close the championship.
With the victory, Texas recorded its fifth straight Big 12 Championship title. Birdies on the 17th holes from UT's Doug Ghim and Scottie Scheffler, along with an added birdie on the 18th from Ghim, solidified the team's win.
Oklahoma State trailed UT by just a stroke, carding 1169 (+49). Kansas, which sat in fourth after the second day, recorded third place with 1172 (+52). Texas Tech finished No. 4 with 1183 (+63), followed by No. 5 Oklahoma with 1185 (+65), then No. 6 Baylor which earned 1190 (+70). Kansas State notched seventh with a mark of 1207 (+87). Trailing in eighth was TCU with 1215 (+95), followed by No. 9 Iowa State with 1221 (+101). West Virginia rounds out the standings with a score of 1251 (+131).
Chase Hanna of Kansas earned the program's first individual champion title following an exceptional day of play. Hanna went 78, 69, 70, 70 over the course of the championship to total 287 (+7). The senior began the day in fifth, but rose quickly through the ranks after recording birdies on four of the last six holes to secure the victory by one stroke.
The All-Tournament Team was announced following the conclusion of play, determined by the top 10 finishers, including ties. The 2017 team consisted of 12 names and Oklahoma's three student-athletes appointed (Max McGreevy, Rylee Reinertson and Brad Dalke) to the honor tied as the second most in league history.
