CHAMPIONSHIP NOTES:

  • No. 1 seeds are 7-2 in Big 12 Championship title games, while the No. 2 seeded teams are 0-3.
  • No. 1 seeds have appeared in nine of the 10 Big 12 Championship title games; only title game missed was the first title game in 1997.
  • Oklahoma is 3-1 in the Championship title game and 14-7 overall in the Big 12 Championship.
  • Baylor is 1-2 in the Championship title game and 12-9 overall in the Big 12 Championship.
  • Oklahoma and Baylor have met once in the Big 12 Championship prior to tonight's final; Oklahoma defeated Baylor, 84-69, in the 2002 title game.

      o Grabbed 59 rebounds during this year's Championship (19.7 rebounds per game), the highest rebound total and average for a player in an individual Championship series.
      o Made 33 field goals in this year's Championship, the second most by a player in an individual Championship series.   o Shot 64.7 percent from the floor, the fourth-highest shooting percentage by a player in an individual Championship series.
      o Recorded 11 blocks, the second-highest total for a player in an individual Championship series.
      o Had nine field goals in the final game, the most by a player in a Big 12 Championship final.

  • The Oklahoma Sooners become the first three-time winners of the Big 12 Championship.
  • Oklahoma had 17 more rebounds than Baylor, the highest rebounding margin by a team in a Big 12 Championship title game.
  • The two teams combined to score 133 points, the third-highest combined score in a Big 12 Championship title game.

    Sophia Young (Baylor):
      o Scored 79 points during this year's Big 12 Championship (26.3 points per game), the second-highest point total and scoring average for a player in an individual Championship series.
