Blaine Gabbert (Missouri), Joe Pawelek (Baylor) and Perrish Cox (Oklahoma State) have been named Big 12 Conference Football Players of the Week as selected by a media panel. Gabbert (offense) earned his first career award while Pawelek (defense) and Cox (special teams) were each recognized for the second time.

In his first career start, Blaine Gabbert went 25-of-33 for 319 yards and three touchdowns with no interceptions in leading Missouri to a 37-9 win over Illinois. He also ran for a fourth score on an 8-yard keeper as he totaled 39 rushing yards to give him 358 yards of total offense. The sophomore's touchdown passes covered 49, four and 46 yards. He ended the day with a Big 12-best quarterback rating of 186.96.
Big 12 Defensive Player of the Week
Joe Pawelek, Baylor, LB, Sr, San Antonio, Texas
Joe Pawelek made seven tackles, including five solo stops in leading Baylor to a 24-21 win at Wake Forest - the program's first road non-conference victory against a BCS opponent since 1995 at North Carolina State. The senior linebacker also intercepted a pass and recorded a sack while anchoring the Bears' defense that held Wake Forest to 269 yards of offense. The interception was the ninth of his career, which is tied for fifth among active FBS players and the most among active linebackers. Pawelek has recorded at least one interception in four of his last five games and produced at least one turnover in five of the last six games.
Big 12 Special Teams Player of the Week
Perrish Cox, Oklahoma State, DB/PR/KR, Sr, Waco, Texas
Perrish Cox returned the opening kickoff of the second half 74 yards to set up an Oklahoma State touchdown in its 24-10 win over No. 13 Georgia. It was the ninth return of more than 50 yards in his career. Cox also had a 16-yard punt return and compiled 97 total return yards in the game.
