Gilmore, Pitts And Goldstein Kick Off Big 12 Soccer Player Of The Week Awards

Hanna Gilmore (Baylor), Colleen Pitts (Texas Tech) and Emily Goldstein (Iowa State) have earned Big 12 Soccer Player of the Week accolades for games played from Aug. 20-22. This marks Gilmore's second award, having collected the distinction after opening weekend last season. This is the first Player of the Week honor for Pitts and Goldstein.

Offensive Player of the Week
Hanna Gilmore, Baylor, F, So., Spring, Texas
Gilmore helped guide the Bears to a 7-0 victory over McNeese State on Sunday with two goals and an assist. The win, coupled with a 1-0 victory over Rice on Friday, put Baylor at 2-0-0, its best start to a season since 2007. In the McNeese State match, Gilmore had a hand in three straight goals, assisting on the Bears' second goal and scoring the next two. She leads the conference in points after the opening weekend with five.

Defensive Player of the Week
Colleen Pitts, Texas Tech, GK, Sr., Dallas, Texas
Pitts played in all 90 minutes of Texas Tech's two weekend wins, recording two shutouts against TCU and Texas State as the Red Raiders picked up a 3-0 win over the Horned Frogs and a 2-0 win over the Bobcats. The two shutouts gives Pitts five for her career, which ranks fifth all-time at TTU. It is the first time since 2006 the Red Raiders have opened the season with consecutive shutouts. The senior also garnered 10 saves on the weekend, including eight in the Texas State match.

Newcomer of the Week
Emily Goldstein, Iowa State, MF, Fr., Orange County, Calif.
Goldstein netted Iowa State's first goal of the season in her second collegiate appearance in the Cyclones' 3-1 win over Northern Iowa on Sunday. She also assisted on a goal that broke a 1-1 tie to put ISU ahead. She fired six shots for the week.
