At Thursday’s spring meetings in Kansas City, the Big 12 Conference announced that it will officially sponsor the sports of equestrian and rowing starting in the 2011-12 season. Baylor, Kansas State, Oklahoma State and Texas A&M currently have equestrian teams while Kansas, Kansas State, Oklahoma and Texas have rowing teams. That will bring the number of sports sponsored by the Big 12 to 23.
