Big 12 regular season champion, Oklahoma State, is the last remaining Conference school in the 2011 NCAA Soccer Championship. The Cowgirls will travel to Stanford, Calif. on Friday, Nov. 25 at 9 p.m. (CT) to face the tournament’s No. 1 overall seed in the Stanford Cardinal.

To get to the quarterfinals, OSU has defeated Arkansas-Pine Bluff (9-1), Illinois (1-0) and Maryland (1-0). In first round action, the Cowgirls advanced past Arkansas-Pine Bluff with seven goals in the second half to claim the 9-1 win. During rounds two and three, Oklahoma State got a goal early from Annika Niemeier and then rode its defense to the pair of 1-0 shutouts.

This season the Big 12 advanced three teams to the second round of the NCAA Championship marking the seventh time in the league’s 16-year history that three or more teams have advanced past the first round.

This season, the Big 12 has the nation’s top scoring offense (Texas A&M, 3.17 goals per game) and the country’s best defense (Oklahoma State, .272 goals allowed per game).

Individually, TAMU’s Beth West (14) and KU’s Whitney Berry (13) are tied for tied for third and sixth in the nation in total assists. Texas A&M’s Kelley Monogue, the Big 12’s offensive player of the year, is fifth nationally with 19 goals and 47 points.  OSU’s Adrianna Franch is second in the country in goals-against average (.262) and first in save percentage (.938).

The Big 12 is 74-28-3 against non-conference opponents this season, including records of 4-1 against Conference USA opponents, 4-1-1 against the Big Ten and 8-1-1 versus the Pac-12.

Success at home has translated to overall success for Big 12 teams. The top three teams (Oklahoma State, Texas A&M and Baylor) have a combined 33-2-3 record at home, which has propelled them to a combined 53-11-7 overall mark.
