Whitney Hand (Oklahoma) was voted to the Capital One Academic All-District 7 Women's Basketball First Team, announced by the College Sports Information Directors of America.

As a first-team all-district selection, the Sooner co-captain will be eligible for consideration as an Academic All-American.

Hand graduated with a 3.76 GPA in health and exercise science in December. The redshirt-junior guard averages 12.4 points and 6.4 rebounds and recently scored her 900th career point.

The Sooners have had 13 Academic All-District women's basketball players under the 16-year tutelage of Sherri Coale. Four times, those Sooners have been voted Academic All-Americans, including last year when Danielle Robinson was named to the second team.
