2011-12 Phillips 66 All-Big 12 Women's Basketball Awards Announced
March 05, 2012
Big 12 regular season champion Baylor picked up honors for coach, player and defensive player of the year for the second consecutive season in highlighting the 2011-12 Phillips 66 All-Big 12 Conference Women's Basketball Awards.

Kim Mulkey earned her third Big 12 Coach of the Year honor while junior Brittney Griner was again named Big 12 Player of the Year in addition to picking up her third nod for Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year.

Kelsey Bone (Texas A&M) was voted Big 12 Newcomer of the Year while Liz Donohoe (Oklahoma State) was selected Big 12 Freshman of the Year.

Sharane Campbell (Oklahoma) claimed the Sixth Man Award. The honors were voted on by the league's head coaches who are not allowed to vote for their own players.

Mulkey, in her 12th season at Baylor, led the program to its third Big 12 regular season title with a 31-0 overall record and 18-0 league mark - both Big 12 records. BU's seven-game advantage to win the Big 12 regular season is also a league best. The Lady Bears are ranked No. 1 in the national polls and are the only women's or men's basketball program to finish the regular season undefeated. BU will enter the Phillips 66 Big 12 Women's Basketball Championship as the No. 1 seed.

Griner leads the Big 12 in scoring (23.3), blocks (5.1) and field goal percentage (.616) while ranking second in rebounds (9.6). She is the Big 12's career blocked shots leader (550) and ranks second on the NCAA career chart. The 6-8 center scored a career-high 41 points in Baylor's final regular season game. Griner has scored in double-figures in 71 straight games and in 101 of 103 in her career.

Bone is in her first season with the Aggies after transferring from South Carolina. She is 17th in the Conference in scoring (12.1), 10th in rebounding (6.9) and third in field goal percentage (.546). The 6-5 center is second on her squad in points and the team's top rebounder while starting 26 of 29 games.

Donohoe leads all Big 12 freshmen and the Cowgirls in scoring (12.4) and rebounding (7.1). Her numbers rank 15th and eighth in the Conference, respectively. She has started all 27 games in her rookie season.

Campbell is the first freshman to earn the Sixth Man Award since it was established in 2007. She has played in all 30 of OU's games and averages 19 minutes of court time with 8.7 points and 3.4 rebounds. The guard is third among Big 12 freshmen in scoring and fifth in rebounds.
