TCU Captures First 2 Big 12 Titles In Indoor T&F

TCU captured its first Big 12 titles in any sports thanks to victories in the 60-meter dashes. Chaniqua Corinealdi won the women's title in a time of 7.34 seconds. Charles Silmon captured the men's title with a time of 6.66 seconds.

The twin victories in the 60 meters were the highlights for the Horned Frogs, whose men finish ninth in the nine-team field and whose women finished next to last in the standings.

"We got a lot of work to do for both the men and the women," TCU coach Darryl Anderson said. "We had some highlights with many people. For Chaniqua and Charles to win was special. They won back-to-back events so for 10-to-15 minute period everything in the building was about TCU.

"At the end of the day, we have to move forward. I feel comfortable and confident that as we evolve we can compete better. We can't have one-dimensional kids at this meet. We left a lot of points on the track."
