Boykin, Stephens and Hill Receive Final Big 12 Football Weekly Honors

TCU’s Trevone Boykin along with Oklahoma State teammates Larry Stephens and Tyreek Hill were selected Big 12 Football Players of the Week for the final games of the 2014 regular season by a panel of media that cover the Conference. Boykin (offense) picked up his fourth career honor, all in this season. Hill (special teams) was recognized for the second time while Stephens (defense) earned his first award.

Big 12 Offensive Player of the Week
Trevone Boykin, TCU, QB, Jr, Dallas, Texas
Trevone Boykin totaled a career-high 559 yards of offense and five touchdowns in TCU’s 55-3 win over Iowa State. The junior quarterback had a career-best 460 yards passing with four scores, a 55-yard receiving TD and 44 yards rushing. The four receiving touchdowns gave him a TCU-record 30 for the season, breaking the previous mark of 27 by Andy Dalton in 2010. The 559 yards of total offense marked the second-best total in school history while the 460 yards passing ranked third all-time at TCU.

Big 12 Defensive Player of the Week
Larry Stephens, Oklahoma State, S, Sr, Houston, Texas
Larry Stephens led all players with 14 tackles and recovered a fumble that signaled the turning point of the game in Oklahoma State’s 38-35 overtime win at No. 16 Oklahoma. The senior, who missed most of the last two seasons due to injury, made just the sixth start of his career. He was a central figure for the OSU defense that forced OU to go three-and-out on each of its most important offensive possessions of the fourth quarter.

Big 12 Special Teams Player of the Week
Tyreek Hill, Oklahoma State, PR, Jr, Pearson, Ga.
Tyreek Hill returned a punt 92 yards for a touchdown with 45 seconds remaining to tie the game and set the stage for Oklahoma State’s 38-35 overtime win at No. 16 Oklahoma. Hill’s return was the second-longest in school history and was his third non-offensive touchdown of the year, as he had a game-winning 99-yard kickoff return for a touchdown at Kansas and a 97-yard kickoff return against Iowa State. The junior is one of only five players in the nation to return both a kickoff and a punt for a touchdown this year and is one of two players nationally with more than one kickoff return for a score plus a punt return score.
