2015 Academic All-Big 12 Cross Country Team Announced

A total of 125 student-athletes have been named to the 2015 Academic All-Big 12 Cross Country Team.

The team includes 105 first team honorees (36 men, 69 women) and 20 second team selections (15 men, five women). Four men’s teams totaled seven total members - Baylor, Kansas, TCU and Texas Tech. West Virginia paced the women’s teams with 12 selections, all of which are first team honorees. Baylor led all teams with a combined 16 members between the men’s and women’s squads.

Sixteen of the honorees were nominated with 4.00 grade point averages: Men - Chris Melgares (Kansas), Jeffrey Bachman (Kansas State) and Zac Randall (Oklahoma); Women - Leila Rohde (Baylor), Evelyne Guay (Iowa State), Hannah Dimmick (Kansas), Sophia Fernald (Oklahoma), Belle Wallace (Oklahoma), Ingeborg Loevnes (Oklahoma State), Nicole Hicks (TCU), Bailey Sullivan (TCU), Kaleigh Ervin (Texas), Hattie Schunk (Texas Tech), Amy Cashin (West Virginia), Corinne Kule (West Virginia) and Kelly Williams (West Virginia).

First team members consist of those who have maintained a 3.20 or better GPA while the second team selections hold a 3.00 to 3.19 GPA.

To qualify, student-athletes must maintain a 3.00 GPA or higher either cumulative or the two previous semesters and must have participated in 60 percent of their team’s scheduled contests. Freshmen and transfers are not eligible in their first year of academic residence. Senior student-athletes who have participated for a minimum of two years and meet all the criteria except percent of participation are also eligible.
