Nazareth Mitrou-Long (Iowa State) and Jo Lual-Acuil (Baylor) have captured the final weekly men’s basketball honors before the Christmas holiday, as the duo has been selected the Phillips 66 Big 12 Player and Newcomer of the Week, respectively. Both are recognized for the first time this season.

- Posted a career-high 37 points while grabbing six rebounds with five assists in the win over Drake.
- Connected on 14-of-18 (.778) shots from the field, including 8-of-12 (.667) from 3-point range.
- The 37 points were the most by a Cyclone player since February 8, 2014 (Melvin Ejim, 48 vs. TCU).
PHILLIPS 66 BIG 12 NEWCOMER OF THE WEEK
Jo Lual-Acuil Jr., Baylor, F, Jr., Melbourne, Australia
- Led Baylor to 3-0 week, recording 12.7 points, 6.0 rebounds and 3.7 blocks per game.
- Shot 66.7 percent (16-of-24) from the field and has connected at a .618 clip this season - second in the conference.
- Has finished with multiple blocks in all but one game and ranks second nationally with 4.18 rejections per game.
