Trio Records Final 2017 Weekly Honors

Three Big 12 student-athletes, Jessica Hartwell (Texas Tech), Kelsee Selman (Baylor) and Emma Hylan (Iowa State) record the season's final Big 12 softball weekly awards. Hartwell is named Player of the Week, while Selman and Hylan are named Co-Pitchers of the Week. This marks Hartwell's first career honor, while Selman produces her fourth and Hylan her second.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Jessica Hartwell, Texas Tech, So., INF, Galt, Calif.

  • Led the conference with three home runs and six RBI while batting .500 for the weekend, including a double and a walk.
  • Recorded her first multi-home run game Sunday at Colorado State and is now up to 11 for the season, which is tied for second in the conference.
  • Accounted for all three of TTU's RBI Sunday at Colorado State.

PITCHERS OF THE WEEK

Kelsee Selman, Baylor, Sr., RHP, Lufkin, Texas

  • Went 2-0 on the weekend, securing the series victory over Texas and adding to her Big 12-leading season win total to 21.
  • Notched a 0.46 ERA in 15.1 innings pitched, allowing just one earned run over two complete games, including a shutout in the Sunday series finale.
  • Helped the Bears to its first victory in Austin since 2011.

Emma Hylan, Iowa State, So., RHP, Roseville, Minn.

  • Carried the ISU team to its first Big 12 series sweep since 2013 with a pair of dominant performances versus Kansas.
  • Pitched 14.0 innings in two complete game victories, clinching the Cyclones a spot in the Big 12 Softball Championship and the program's best finish in conference play (5th) since 1994.
  • Compiled a .50 ERA on the weekend, giving up just one earned run on 11 hits across two games, which included a 1-0 victory for first complete game shutout of her career.
