Conference teams rounded out the 2017 MLB Draft with a combined 43 student-athletes selected. All nine schools had at least two players selected in this year's draft.
The Big 12 has totaled 984 picks since 1997.
Texas led all league teams with 11 players selected, tying as the most selections from a school in this year's draft. Texas right-handed pitcher Morgan Cooper was the first Big 12 baseball player off the board as a second round selection of the Los Angeles Dodgers.
TCU had six drafted, including fifth-round pick Austen Wade. During his 14 seasons as TCU's head coach, Jim Schlossnagle has seen 70 players drafted by 26 organizations.
Oklahoma State also totalled six draft picks. Tyler Buffett and Trey Cobb were selected in the MLB Draft for the second-straight year, with both improving their draft status in 2017 after returning to the Cowboys for their senior seasons.
The Sooners have had at least one player drafted every year since 1970 and a player selected in the first 10 rounds every year since 2011. JB Olson is the 84th draft pick in OU history to be chosen within the first 10 rounds and the 13th to be selected by the White Sox.
With five picks this year, Texas Tech has had 30 student-athletes selected in the MLB Draft in five years under head coach Tim Tadlock. All five Red Raiders taken in this year's draft came to Lubbock undrafted out of high school.
Kansas State had four selections, marking the 14th consecutive season under head coach Brad Hill in which K-State has had multiple players selected in the Draft.
Kansas had three selections. Weiman and Villines became the 27th and 28th players, respectively, in Kansas history to be drafted in the top-10 rounds and round out a group of eight players to don that honor in the Price era. The Jayhawks have now seen four players picked in the top-10 rounds in the last four years.
With two selections, Baylor has had at least one player chosen in 40 of the last 42 drafts, dating back to 1976. The Bears have a total of 138 draft choices in program history and their first multi-player draft since 2014.
West Virginia has had 16 draft selections in coach Randy Mazey's five seasons, the most draft picks in a five-year stretch in team history. At least two Mountaineers have been drafted in each of Mazey's five seasons.
