For the third time in program history, the Oklahoma women’s gymnastics team advanced to the NCAA Super Six Team Finals after placing second in their semifinal Friday in Los Angeles.
The Sooners tied with UCLA for second in their semifinal with 197.200 while Alabama placed first with 197.350.
OU was led by sophomore Erica Brewer, who tied for first in her session on bars with a score of 9.950. She also paced the team on beam with her 9.875 score, good for third place.
Iowa State’s Michelle Shealy advanced to the Individual finals, scoring a career-high tying 9.900 on the beam to tie for second in her session.
Team Finals begin Saturday at 6 p.m. CT while Individual Event Finals start at 3 p.m. CT Sunday. Both competitions will be aired live on espn3.com.
