Baylor’s Odyssey Sims has been named a Preseason Associated Press All-American for the second consecutive season.
The senior point guard is the lone returning starter for the Lady Bears this year. She averaged 12.9 points, 5.8 assists and 2.8 steals last season during BU’s Sweet 16 run. She was also on the 2012 national championship team.
"Odyssey is by far the most experienced player we have. She understands what it takes to win championships, she understands the work ethic," Baylor coach Kim Mulkey said. "She's going to be asked to do more than ever before, both in her play and in the leadership capacity, and I think she's ready for it."
Sims is also a preseason candidate for the John R. Wooden, Wade and Senior CLASS awards.
"I am so honored to be named a preseason AP All-American for the second time,” said Sims. That's a pretty select group to be included in and I am humbled by the recognition."
