Dieringer Claims Oklahoma State's Third Weekly Wrestling Honor

Alex Dieringer of Oklahoma State has been named the Big 12 Wrestler of the Week for competition from Jan. 21 through Jan. 26. This marks the first weekly award of Dieringer's career.

Third-ranked Dieringer earned his 12th bonus-point victory on the season and helped lead the Cowboys to a 29-3 victory over the Iowa State Cyclones. Dieringer faced off against Big 12 rival John Nicholson, where he dominated, scoring four takedowns and a three-point nearfall to seal the 14-3 major decision over Nicholson. It was Dieringer’s first major decision of the season. He improved to 18-1 overall and 7-1 in dual competition. Dieringer is a perfect 3-0 against Big 12 opponents this season.
