Hill, Treasure Claim Final Weekly Track and Field Awards

Tyreek Hill (Oklahoma State) and Alyx Treasure (K-State) have been named Big 12 Indoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week. Hill picks up the first weekly award for Oklahoma State this season, it marks the first career weekly award for both student-athletes.

Hill broke the meet record in the 60 meter dash at the Kansas State Open. Hill’s run, a 6.68, edged the meet record of 6.69, which was set in 2002 by Terence Newman, who is a two-time NFL pro-bowler at the cornerback position. This is the second-straight week in which Hill has broken a school or meet record in the 60 meter dash.

Alyx Treasure, Kansas State, Jr., Prince George, British Columbia, Canada
Treasure won the high jump at the K-State Open with a season-best mark of 1.83m/6-00.00. For Treasure, the mark ties a career indoor best and is her second win in the event this season. It is also the best jump by a Wildcat women’s high jumper since Treasure, herself, jumped a personal-best 1.84m/6-00.50 on March 31, 2012, at the Texas Relays.

The Prince George, B.C., native’s winning effort ranks seventh best in school history and is the top mark in the Big 12, as well as tied for the seventh best mark in Division I.
