The Big 12 Conference announced the assignment of new roles in its communications department. Rachel Coe has been appointed Communications Coordinator, Will Gulley will serve as Director of Digital Content & Strategy, Joni Lehmann was promoted to Director of Media Services, and Aaron Pryor and Christine Williamson were named Digital Media Correspondents.
These personnel moves, effective immediately, are part of the reorganizational alignment of the communications staff to better meet the growing information demands of a 24/7 news cycle.
“This reorganization will bring the Big 12 a renewed energy in leading the intercollegiate athletics communications field,” said Big 12 Conference Commissioner Bob Bowlsby. “I’m confident our new team structure successfully positions us for the ever-changing communications landscape.”
Coe was appointed to Communications Coordinator after a one-year stint as the conference’s Will Hancock Communications Assistant.
Gulley will serve as Director of Digital Content & Strategy. He joins the conference from AT&T Entertainment, where he was responsible for branded content strategy, production and distribution.
Lehmann was promoted to Director of Media Services after serving as Associate Director of Communications for the conference.
Pryor was named Digital Media Correspondent following a Digital Network Assistant internship.
Williamson, previously a Big 12 Correspondent for Campus Insiders, joins as a Digital Media Correspondent.
Additional positions are in the process of being filled and will be announced at a later date.
