All-Big 12 Honors Notebook:
- Chase Daniel is the first Missouri player to be named the Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year. Prior to this season, only two other Tigers have received postseason accolades in conference history (2002-Brad Smith, Offensive Freshman of the Year; 1998-Justin Smith, Defensive Freshman of the Year).
- Jordan Dizon is the first Colorado player to receive Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year honors. The senior was also named the Big 12 Defensive Freshman of the Year in 2004. Dizon is the third player in conference history to receive both the defensive freshman and player of the year awards (Mark Simoneau, Kansas State- 1996, 2000; Derrick Johnson, Texas-2000, 2004)
- Missouri received more major individual awards this season (3) than it had in the combined previous 11 years of conference play. Kansas equaled its prior combined total with three accolades this year.
- Mark Mangino wins Coach of the Year for the first time after his sixth season with the Jayhawks. He is the first Kansas coach to be awarded.
- Kansas State swept the Newcomer of the Year awards, marking the second time in conference history the Wildcats have taken both accolades. KSU captured both newcomer honors during the 1997 season.
- Oklahoma has won the most major awards in the 12-year history of the Big 12 with 19. Texas is next with 18 winners followed by Kansas State (13), Nebraska (9), Colorado (6), Iowa State (6), Kansas (6), Missouri (5), and Texas Tech (5).
