For the first time in seven years, the Big 12 Indoor Track & Field Championships return to the Lied Recreation Center in Ames, Iowa. The event is scheduled for Feb. 23-24, for the third time in conference history with Iowa State serving as the host institution.

In the conference's 11-year tenure, the indoor track & field championships have been held at three different venues: Bob Devaney Sports Center, Lincoln, Neb. (1997, 2001-'06); Lied Recreation Center, Ames, Iowa ('98, '00, '07); and Ahearn Field House, Manhattan, Kan. ('99).

Texas is the defending men's and women's champion. In 2006, the Longhorn men claimed their second Big 12 team title (1999, '06), and the women tallied their fifth victory (1998-'99, '02-'03, '06). Overall, Nebraska has earned a league-leading eight men's titles, while the Husker women (1997, 2000-'01, '04-05) are tied with the Longhorns at five crowns each.
