Nebraska 38, Arkansas State 9
The 22nd-ranked Cornhuskers (2-0) tuned up for their trip to face No. 14 Virginia Tech with their second consecutive blowout victory. In his second start, Nebraska quarterback Zac Lee passed for 340 yards and four touchdowns. The Huskers scored on five of their first six possessions and prevented the Red Wolves (1-1) from duplicating a victory over a Big 12 team (they opened 2008 with a victory at Texas A&M).

Iowa 35, Iowa State 3
The Cyclones' spread, no-huddle offense fizzled and their defense couldn't stop Hawkeyes' quarterback Ricky Stanzi, who had a career-high four touchdown passes. Iowa (2-0) safety Tyler Sash tied a school record with three interceptions and also forced a fumble. Iowa State had six turnovers. Junior quarterback Austen Arnaud was 10 of 22 for 79 yards and four interceptions. Freshman Jerome Tiller replaced Arnaud with 4:18 remaining in the third quarter.

Houston 45, Oklahoma State 35
The fifth-ranked Cowboys (1-1) rallied from a 24-7 halftime deficit to take a lead but the Cougars (2-0) benefitted from some lucky bounces to mount a 21-point fourth quarter. Houston took the lead with 6:42 remaining when Bryce Beall grabbed a pass in the end zone that had been deflected by Oklahoma State linebacker Donald Booker. The Cougars clinched the victory when Jamal Robinson intercepted a pass that bounced off the Cowboys' Dez Bryant; Robinson returned it 26 yards for a TD with 3:14 remaining.

Texas 41, Wyoming 10
The second-ranked Longhorns shook off a blocked punt that resulted in the Cowboys' only touchdown and a 10-6 deficit to rally for a dominating victory. After trailing late in the first half, Texas regained momentum by going 70 yards in six plays with James Kirkendoll scoring on a 25-yard pass from Colt McCoy. That started a 35-0 closing run. McCoy was 30 of 47 for 337 yards and three touchdowns. He also had nine carries for 44 yards and one touchdown.

Missouri 27, Bowling Green 20
The 25th-ranked Tigers (2-0) rallied in the second half, scoring 14 points in the fourth quarter to foil the Falcons' upset bid. Sophomore quarterback Blaine Gabbert overcame a slow start to throw for 172 yards and two second-half TDs. His 22-yard completion to Danario Alexander set up Derrick Washington's game-winning 1-yard touchdown run.

Oklahoma 64, Idaho State 0
The 13th-ranked Sooners bounced back from their season-opening loss with a dominating victory. In his first start, freshman quarterback Landry Jones threw three touchdown passes. Jones was 18 of 32 for 286 yards. The Bengals (0-2) had just 44 total yards as they lost for the 17th time in their last 18 games.

Louisiana-Lafayette 17, Kansas State 15
The home team spoiled the Wildcats' (1-1) fourth-quarter comeback with a 48-yard game-winning field goal by Tyler Albrecht with 32 seconds remaining. Kansas State got a touchdown pass from Daniel Thomas and a scoring run by Thomas to take a 15-14 lead with 8:08 remaining. Thomas, in his second Division I-A game, finished with 136 yards rushing on 27 carries.

Texas Tech 55, Rice 10
The Red Raiders (2-0) warmed up for their big game at Texas next Saturday as junior quarterback Taylor Potts had an impressive night. He had touchdown passes of 5, 7, 8, 11, 27, 34 and 30 yards. Potts, making his second start, completed 36 of 57 passes for 456 yards. Lyle Leong had three touchdown receptions as Potts completed passes to 13 different receivers.

Kansas 34, UT-El Paso 7
The Jayhawks (2-0) delivered an impressive defensive performance. Kansas had five sacks and limited the Miners (0-2) to 191 yards total offense (just five yards on the ground). Jake Sharp had three running touchdowns for Kansas while Todd Reesing completed 25 of 41 passes for 260 yards. Dezmon Briscoe, who was suspended for the season opener, had eight catches for 154 yards.
