Big 12 Big Plays

Each week, followers of the Big 12 Conference will have a chance to vote for the biggest plays from the past weekend of football action.

A variety of plays will be considered, with the number changing each week.  Visitors to the Big 12 web site will be able to view the television video from each contest and then vote for their favorite.  Voting begins each Monday and continues until the following Monday.  Periodic updates of the voting will be posted during the course of the week, with the winner announced on the final day.

Play 1 - Alexander Robinson's 63 yard touchdown run in the second quarter put the Cyclones ahead 14-0 as Iowa State opened its season with a 27-10 win over Northern Illinois. Play 2 - Baylor's Robert Griffin III scurried 30 yards into the endzone to put the Bears up 14-0. He accounted for 301 yards in total offense - 242 passing, 59 rushing.
Play 3 - Missouri wide receiver T.J. Moe caught a seven-yard touchdown pass from Blaine Gabbert as the Tigers fought back from a 13-3 halftime deficit to defeat Illinois, 23-13. Moe hauled in 101 yards on 13 receptions. Play 4 - Kansas State's Daniel Thomas sprinted for a 35-yard touchdown run late in the fourth quarter as the Wildcats topped UCLA 31-22. Thomas totaled a mammoth 234 yards rushing and 2 touchdowns on the day.
Play 5 - Missouri's Carl Gettis made an absurd one-handed interception in the 4th quarter to help hold Illinois scoreless in the second half, sparking a Missouri comeback. Play 6 - Oklahoma State's Kendall Hunter blasted past Washington State defenders for a 66-yard gain, his longest of a day in which he accumulated a Big 12-leading 257 yards rushing.
Play 7 - Texas A&M's Dustin Harris intercepted a pass and returned it 38 yards for a touchdown, helping the Aggies defeat Stephen F. Austin 48-7. Play 8 - Baylor's Jay Finley ripped off a 44-yard touchdown run to give BU a 28-0 lead in the third quarter as the Bears would go on to win 34-3.
Play 9 - Oklahoma State's Brandon Weeden connects with receiver Justin Blackmon for a touchdown. Weeden's 218 yards passing and 3 touchdowns came in his first college start.
