Texas Sweeps Big 12 Swimming & Diving Championships

AUSTIN, Texas - The Texas men's and women's squads captured the team titles at the 2011 Big 12 Swimming and Diving Championships at the Lee and Joe Jamail Swimming Center in Austin, Texas.

The Longhorn men maintained their lead over Texas A&M, winning their 15th consecutive conference championship, while the women overcame a seven-point deficit to the Aggies to take home the 10th title in program history (1999-2006, '09).

Texas swept Swim Coach of the Meet honors with men's head coach Eddie Reese earning his ninth award and women's coach Kin Brackin earning her second. Dive Coach of the Year honors went to Matt Scoggin (UT) on the men's side and Jamie Sweeney (MU) in the women's competition. The title was Scoggin's seventh in the men's division, 12th overall, and Sweeney's first.

The Longhorns and Aggies split the Newcomer of the Meet awards as freshmen Pat Murphy (UT) and Cammile Adams (TAMU) each took home the honor. Texas' Nick D'Innocenzo and Jimmy Feigen shared the men's Swimmer of the Meet honor, while junior teammate Karlee Bispo earned Swimmer of the Meet on the women's side.

Texas sophomore Maren Taylor earned Diver of the Meet honors with two wins while UT's Drew Livingston took his second straight Diver of the Meet honor.
