Baseball Release in PDF

Baylor, Texas and Texas A&M enter the week ranked in all four national polls. The Aggies have their highest ranking of the season - No. 2 - in both the Baseball America and NCBWA polls. Baylor is ranked in the top 10 on two lists, including a No. 5 spot by Collegiate Baseball. Texas' highest rank is No. 23. Oklahoma is receiving votes in two of the polls.

The Bears remain perfect on the conference season with a 12-0 mark. It is the best start to a conference season by a league team (previous best was Texas, 7-0, 1999). BU has swept four-straight conference series (Texas Tech, Kansas, Oklahoma State and Missouri). Baylor's 12-game Big 12 winning streak is the fourth-longest by any team in the Conference's 16-year history. Baylor's current 14-game winning streak is the nation's longest active streak and tied for the sixth-longest winning streak by any Division I team this season.

Sitting tied in second place in the league standings are Texas and Texas A&M at 7-2. The three teams at the top of the standings have yet to play one another. The Aggies will face BU and UT the final two weekends of April, respectively, while Baylor and Texas meet the last weekend of the regular season.

Texas has yet to play a conference game at home, hosting OSU this weekend in Austin for its Big 12 opener, while Texas A&M takes its first conference road trip this weekend, visiting Kansas. In other league series, Kansas State will host Baylor, while Missouri will visit Oklahoma.

Along with Baylor's series sweep of Missouri last weekend, Texas A&M (vs. OU) and Oklahoma State (vs. KU) recorded sweeps.

Blake Brown (Missouri) carries the longest hit streak of the season into this week - 17 games. Alex Silver (Texas) has an active hit streak of 15, while Mark Payton (Texas) has reached base in all 29 of the Longhorns' contests this season.

Ross Stripling (Texas A&M) entered the Big 12 career wins chart with a complete game victory on Saturday. The senior has 26 career wins - tied for 10th on the conference top 10 list.

Trent Blank (Baylor) leads the nation in wins with eight. Blank is 8-0 on the season and, combined with reigning Big 12 Pitcher of the Week Josh Turley, Baylor is 12-0 in games started by the pair this season.

Four Big 12 teams are in the top 25 nationally for average attendance on the season - Texas (5th), Texas A&M (10th), Texas Tech (18th) and Baylor (22nd).
