September 17, 2012
Kaitlynn Pelger (Kansas State), Kristen Hahn (Iowa State) and Nikki Attea (West Virginia) have collected Big 12 volleyball weekly accolades for matches played Sept. 10-16. It is the first weekly award for each of the three student-athletes this season.

This marks the fourth career honor for Pelger, who was named Offensive Player of the Week on two occasions in 2011 and also was the Rookie of the Week once in 2010. Hahn earns her fifth career honor after garnering four defensive awards in 2011.

Attea becomes the second West Virginia freshman honored with Rookie of the Week this season.

Pelger averaged 4.18 kills per set while hitting .440 over the weekend at the Golden Hurricane Classic in Tulsa, Okla. She added 2.45 digs and 1.09 blocks, while her five aces led the team. Hahn's 26 digs was a match-high and leaves her with a 4.63 average for the season, ranked fourth in the Big 12.
