Eckerman claims her fourth Offensive Player of the Week accolade this season and sixth of her career. The sophomore also earned Rookie of the Week honors on five occasions last season, bringing her overall career weekly award total to 11.
Hahn earns her fifth Defensive Player of the Week distinction this season after claiming the award four weeks in a row from Sept. 17-Oct. 8. She totaled four of the honors in 2011 and is tied for the second-most defensive recognitions in league history with nine, trailing only former ISU libero Ashley Mass (15).
Stacy becomes the third Red Raider to earn Rookie of the Week this season. TTU has totaled five weekly award-winners.
OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Haley Eckerman, Texas, OH, So., Waterloo, Iowa
Eckerman had 29 kills (4.14) while hitting .429 (committing only two hitting errors) in a four-set win last Wednesday at home against Baylor and a 3-0 sweep on the road Sunday at Oklahoma. She had three service aces (0.43), 18 digs (2.57), one block (0.14) and 32.5 points (4.64). With the pair of victories, the Longhorns improved to 10-0 in Big 12 play and have won 23 straight league matches. Against BU, the sophomore recorded 18 kills and 12 digs while hitting .400. In the OU match, she posted 11 kills with no errors while hitting .478. Eckerman leads the Big 12 in kills (4.60) and points (5.28).
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Kristen Hahn, Iowa State, L, Jr., Cedar Rapids, Iowa
In two matches last week, Hahn collected 5.43 digs per set, including 24 digs in Iowa State's win over No. 17 Kansas, the third-most digs in a four-set match by a league player this season. The Cedar Rapids, Iowa-native has led the Big 12 in digs all year and is the key to Iowa State's 17.41 digs per set against Big 12 teams, the best average in the league. With 14 digs at TCU on Saturday, Hahn is on a 30-match streak of more than 10 digs per match, including 10 matches of more than 20 digs and two with more than 30. She is the only Big 12 player this season with 30 digs in two league contests.
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Meghan Stacy, Texas Tech, OH, Fr., Ozark, Mo.
Stacy matched her career-high with 19 kills last Saturday to help Texas Tech defeat West Virginia, 3-1, at the United Spirit Arena in Lubbock. She totaled just five attacking errors off 40 swings for a .350 hitting percentage, her highest during Big 12 play this season. In addition to her offensive numbers, Stacy also added five digs and a block for the Red Raiders, who completed the season sweep of West Virginia with the win.
