TCU, Oklahoma Ranked in Baseball America Preseason Poll

Oklahoma and TCU are ranked in the 2013 Baseball America preseason top 25 and USA Today Sports preseason top 25 coaches' polls. The Horned Frogs sit at No. 12 in the USA Today rankings and No. 14 on the Baseball America list while OU is No. 16 and No. 19, respectively. Baylor also earned a spot in the USA Today poll at No. 23.

All three teams advanced to NCAA Super Regional play in 2012.

The Sooners finished last season with a 42-25 record, while TCU ended the year at 40-22. Last season was Oklahoma's third Super Regional appearance and marked its fourth straight season with 40-plus wins. The Horned Frogs also advanced to the Super Regional for the third time overall after winning four games in a regional for the first time in school history.

Baylor's 18-0 start in league play last season shattered the previous record for the best start in Conference history (Texas, 7-0, 1999). The Bears claimed their third regular season crown (2005, ‘00) and led the Big 12 in wins for the first time in league history while also ranking first in batting average, slugging percentage, hits, runs, doubles, home runs and RBI. Individually, Steve Smith (Coach of the Year), Josh Ludy (Player of the Year) and Nathan Orf (Newcomer of the Year) collected Big 12 postseason awards.

TCU is has also been ranked No. 14 by Collegiate Baseball while Oklahoma earned a No. 19 spot. Texas earned a No. 21 ranking in the Collegiate Baseball poll. The Longhorns as well as Oklahoma State are receiving votes in the USA Today poll.

The 2013 Big 12 baseball season begins on Friday, Feb. 15, with league play starting the weekend of March 15.
