2012 marked the seventh season in the last eight that at least eight Conference teams played in bowl games.

The Big 12 has made 20 appearances in a BCS game in the 15-year history of the structure.

The Big 12's average of 457.1 yards per game was the highest among FBS leagues over the last five seasons, bettering the 453.3 mark by the Conference in 2011.

The Big 12 scored a nation-high 35.2 points a game. It marked the third straight season in which the Conference averaged over 30 points, and the fourth out of five seasons.

The Conference also held the top spot in total touchdowns (4.50), rushing TDs (1.98) and passing TDs (2.23).

The Big 12 has ranked in the top eight nationally in scoring offense every season; with a team in the top five 14 of 17 years.

Defensively, the Conference has had a team finish among the top eight in the NCAA in scoring defense 12 of 17 seasons.

Two Big 12 teams - TCU and Texas - led the nation with 16 true freshmen playing in 2012.
