Nine Big 12 women’s track and field squads and three men’s teams were named 2013 Division I All-Academic Teams by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.
On the women’s side, Baylor, Iowa State, Kansas State, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, TCU, Texas, Texas Tech and West Virginia received the team honor. For the men, Baylor, Iowa State and Oklahoma State garnered the award.
A total of 60 women and 25 men Big 12 student-athletes earned All-Academic honors.
Oklahoma State led the women’s side with eight All-Academic honorees. Oklahoma and Texas led the men with six each named to the All-Academic team.
A total of 710 female student-athletes from 187 institutions and 448 male student-athletes representing 149 institutions compose the group.
The USTFCCCA honors Division I student-athletes for their athletic and academic achievements in both the indoor and outdoor seasons.
To qualify for the USTFCCCA All-Academic Track and Field Team, the student-athlete must have compiled a cumulative grade point average of 3.25 and have met either of the following athletic standards: for the indoor season, a student-athlete must have finished the regular season ranked in the national top 96 in an individual event or ranked in the national top 48 (collective listing) in a relay event on the official NCAA POP list provided by TFRRS.org; for the outdoor season, a student-athlete must have participated in any round of the NCAA Division I Championships (including preliminary rounds).
