Big 12 Shows Power In NCAA's RPI

Wendell Barnhouse is a nationally-known and respected columnist who has spent over 20 years covering collegiate athletics. He has reported from 24 Final Fours and more than three dozen bowl games and has written about the Big 12 and its schools since the conference's beginning. The NCAA released the first Ratings Percentage Index (RPI) of the season Friday and the Big 12 – which is ranked No. 1 as a conference - is well represented.

Kansas is No. 2, Iowa State No. 3, Oklahoma State is No. 13 and Baylor is No. 14. No other conference has four teams ranked in the top 14.

The rest of the Big 12 RPI rankings: No. 34 Oklahoma, No. 49 Kansas State, No. 61 Texas, No. 83 West Virginia, No. 155 Texas Tech, No. 183 TCU.
