Six Named to AP Women’s All-America teams
April 01, 2014

Odyssey Sims (Baylor) has been named a unanimous Associated Press All-America first team selection while five other Big 12 student-athletes were also recognized.

Honorable mention picks include Hallie Christofferson (Iowa State), Aaryn Ellenberg (Oklahoma) and Tiffany Bias (Oklahoma State) along with Asya Bussie and Bria Holmes (West Virginia).

Sims was named to the All-America First Team for the second-straight season. She averaged 28.5 points as a senior to become only the second player in history to score more than 1,000 points in a single season. She fell just eight points short of Jackie Stiles' record of 1,062. Sims was also on the AP’s preseason team.

All six Conference honorees were in the top 11 in the Big 12 in scoring, averaging over 12 points a game. They also led their respective teams to NCAA Championship play and were chosen to the All-Big 12 First Team.
