Ten Big 12 Conference tennis squads have been selected to compete in the NCAA Men’s and Women’s Tennis Championships. Five women’s teams earned spots in the 64-team field while five men’s teams punched tickets. This marks the third year in a row at least 10 teams have advanced to the postseason.

The Big 12 will be represented by 16 singles players and six doubles tandems at the 2014 NCAA Division I Men’s and Women’s Tennis Championships. The singles and doubles championships will be held May 21-26 at the Dan Magill Tennis Complex on the campus of the University of Georgia in Athens, Ga., following the completion of the NCAA Team Championships.

Baylor claimed the league’s automatic bid to the NCAA Championships on both the men’s and women’s side after claiming the Big 12 Championship crown last weekend in Fort Worth. The Baylor men defeated Oklahoma, 4-3, in the championship final while the Lady Bears defeated Oklahoma State by a score of 4-1.

Joining Baylor on the men’s side is Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Texas and Texas Tech. The four other women’s squads to advance to the postseason are Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Texas and Texas Tech.
