Following the first day of the 2018 Big 12 Swimming and Diving Championship, the West Virginia men’s team and Texas women’s team are slotted in first place.
On the men’s side, West Virginia leads with 126 points followed by Texas (115) and TCU (89). On the women’s side, Texas sits in first with 80 points, followed by a tie between West Virginia, TCU, Kansas and Iowa State with 62 points apiece.
Three finals events were featured today: the 200 medley relay, the men’s 1-meter dive and the 800-yard freestyle relay. Longhorn sophomore Jacob Cornish took first on the 1-meter with 376.05 points. In the relay events, Texas swept the top times.
Preliminaries will begin tomorrow at 10 a.m. CT while the finals are tabbed to start at 6 p.m. CT.
