Oklahoma State Takes Early Lead at Big 12 Equestrian

Springtown, Texas- The Oklahoma State Cowgirls took an early lead in the 2018 Big 12 Equestrian Championship with an 11-9 win over TCU in Round One. The top-seeded Cowgirls rode to 3-2 advantages in both Equitation over Fences and Equitation on the Flat, and a 4-1 advantage in Reining. TCU scored four points in Horsemanship to OSU’s one.


TCU and Baylor began Round Two on Friday afternoon, with the Horned Frogs taking a 7-3 advantage after two events. TCU took the early lead with a 3-2 advantage in Equitation on the Flat and 4-1 advantage in Horsemanship. Round Two will conclude on Saturday morning with Equitation over Fences and Reining events. Competition is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. CT.


The Big 12 champion will be determined following Saturday afternoon’s third round between Baylor and Oklahoma State. OSU won both regular season matchups over Baylor, including a 14-6 victory in Waco in the season finale.
