Laska Anderson Named National Rider of the Year

TCU equestrian's Laska Anderson was named the Horsemanship Rider of the Year by the NCEA. 

Anderson, a sophomore from Leitchfield, Ky., earned the annual accolade for her outstanding performance throughout the 2017-18 season in Horsemanship. She has been highlighted many times this season for her accomplishments, including being selected to the All-Big 12 Horsemanship Team and to the Academic All-Big 12 First Team with a 4.0 GPA.

In her sophomore season, Anderson competed a total of 21 times, 14 of them occurring in the regular season. Her average score from those 14 meets was a 74.25, with her high score of 79 coming against Baylor in February. She earned four MOP accolades against Texas A&M, Fresno State, UT-Martin, and SMU, respectively. She finished the regular season with a 12-1-1 record, and followed it with a 5-1-1 record in postseason play, combining for an overall record of 17-2-2.
