Kansas Athlete of the Year Nominees

2017-18 Big 12 Athlete of the Year candidates will be highlighted each weekday through July 20. Fans will then be able to vote for their male and female choices from July 20-23 on Fan voting will be considered in the final tally for selecting this prestigious award. Today’s featured candidates are Kansas’ Sharon Lokedi and Hussain Al Hizam.

^ 2018 Big 12 Indoor Champion - 3,000 meters and 5,000 meters
^ First Team All-America in 3,000 meters (indoor) and in 10,000 meters (outdoor)
^ 2018 Big 12 Indoor Women's Performer of the Year
^ Outdoor Second Team All-America in 5,000 meters

KU Male Athlete of the Year Candidate
Hussain Al Hizam; Track & Field

^ Broke his own Saudi Arabian national record in the indoor and outdoor pole vault
